These are pretty bad. I especially find the list T-shirt offensive and in horrible bad taste. The Fro Poe one wasn't toooo bad. I myself (as someone who is attempting to bring Poe awareness and appeal to young people) own and proudly wear a "Poe is my Homeboy" T-shirt. After much study, writing and research, I often feel that he is, indeed, my homeboy. To have these t-shirts on cafe press, they must be selling them, though? My question is that if people are purchasing these shirts, they have to have some sort of afinity for Poe, right? You'd think they'd know better...
Any thoughts on how we could design a better, more fitting (pun intended) Poe shirt?
Maybe once you're dead long enough, any kind of satire is fair game, but I saw some Poe-related merchandise on the Web that kind of made me cringe. I mean, we don't have to venerate Poe, but the man was a genius and has made some great contributions to world literature, so humor is great but shouldn't we be just a little respectful?
