Early in my life, I read the Tell-Tale heart and was hooked. I absorbed Poe's works with an insatiable appetite! Living in the country, the nights can be ever so dark and we have always had a resident horned owl on the property. I love to go for walks in the dark when I can't sleep and often imagine myself inside Poe's head trying to explain the isolation and eeriness of these experiences. The darknes and haunting of the owls's hoots can send a shiver up your spine! The dark can play tricks on the body and mind and it's a total trip.
